Seventh-day Adventist teachings are rapidly spreading around the world. For decades there has been a need for a clear and concise biblical examination of the fundamental teachings of this church. This ready reference on Adventism compares biblical Christianity with contemporary Adventism and quickly gives the reader an understanding of the major issues and answers. Truth about Adventist “Truth” is a ministry tool that will equip many to meet the questions of those interested in Adventism as well as share the Gospel with the searching thousands within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Every true Christ-follower wants to be among those who are described as “more noble” because they “examine the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” Dale Ratzlaff’s helpful little booklet will force many to look carefully to see whether what they have been taught is really what God’s Word says. I am so thankful that God has used Dale’s ministry to bring many into the glorious freedom of the gospel that God desires for his people.

I was among the many Christians to whom Dale refers, who believed that the Seventh Day Adventist Church was simply another evangelical denomination. As a pastor, I have found myself ill-equipped to respond. Through this very helpful and well-documented handbook, I learned that Adventists bear many of the distinguishing marks of a cult; founded on heretical views of the Trinity, strict legalism, a leader who is considered an “authoritative source of truth,” adding to Scripture and the claim that they are “the remnant.” I have also learned how to respond with grace and truth. I have come to know Dale and Carolyn as people who deeply care about graciously helping Adventists transition from an oppressive, legalistic religious system to enjoying the freedom of the simple Gospel of Christ.

There are certain hurdles, roadblocks or blinders (call them what you will) that keep an Adventist from seeing the truth of the gospel of the free grace of Jesus Christ. These roadblocks must first be dealt with before an Adventist can move from legalism to liberty. This “Truth” booklet does that very thing. It is short, concise and to the point a handbook of sorts with a dual purpose. First, to reach Adventists with information that is tailor made just for them; and second, to equip the Christian man or woman to be effective when reaching out to his/her Adventist friend. I highly recommend this book and commend Dale Ratzlaff for this informative work.
