Send magazine
I would like to receive the magazine called Proclamation!! The news I read while online is startling! I accidentally found several sites and information while doing a search for Ellen White.
Wounded X-SDAs
Please remove my name from your mailing list. It saddens my heart to read about wounded X-SDAs proclaiming Satan’s lies. You’re working for the Lord like the devil. I’m sorry.
Wycliffe missionaries
My thanks to you and your associates who present the gospel so beautifully in the Proclamation! magazine. Even though I am not an Adventist, I find it thrilling to read how clearly you explain the Scriptures. May God bless you and give you strength, courage, and joy to continue on with your work.…
Ellen White’s prediction of Christ’s return must—or rather, should—have proved her a false prophet. In the OT we are told how to know a true and a false prophet…It only makes me praise God more that as unworthy as I am, God sees me in Christ who has washed and cleansed me from sin—not that I am worthy. Worthy is the Lamb!
P.S. I’m almost 75 and still active, praise the Lord! My husband will be 88 this year. We were missionaries in Mexico. My husband printed the early gospels, epistles, New Testaments, and occasionally a complete Bible for Wycliffe Bible Translators. There are over 100 Indian tribes in Mexico, and many now have the Bible in their own languages.
STOP!
I do not wish to receive the magazine Proclamation! anymore, I have looked at it and read enough to decide that I want nothing to do with it. I was very sad to read how you have left God’s end-time movement while claiming to be led by the Holy Spirit. You are being led by a spirit alright, but not the holy one! I pray you will see the error of your ways before it is too late, lest you hear in the end the words of Jesus, “Depart from Me, you evil doers; I never knew you.” You surely know that not everyone who says to Christ, “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven.
Here I stand—a born and raised AND converted Seventh-day Adventist—I can do no other and be loyal to the God who has brought me thus far. I have looked before at what beckons away from this church and have concluded, THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!!!!!!! I believe with all my heart that God has raised up this REMNANT and blessed us with the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. My decision is firm. I’m staying. Thank, but no thanks.
It’s time to start thinking…
Thank you for your wonderful publication. It came at just the right time. The things written in it are so true. Please keep up the good work. I just called today and requested 10 magazines to give to others. These people may not be as thrilled as I was to receive your magazine, but it is time that Adventists start thinking about what they believe and whether or not it is biblically correct. God bless you and your ministry.
Thank you
Thank you, everyone, for your hard work and commitment to truth.
Love it
We love the new look of Proclamation!
What am I missing?
It seems in reading your publication that everyone is upset with the writings of Ellen White. Yet I find no one complaining about books by Joyce Meyer, Philip Yancey, Anne Graham Lotz, Joel Osteen, Beverly LaHaye, Rick Warren, Stormie Omartian, Max Lucado, Tim LaHaye, Pat Robertson, Charles Stanley, Billy Graham, etc. etc.
I personally find Sister White’s commentary highly informative. What exactly is everyone finding so problematic? What am I missing?
Editor’s note: First, it is not the purpose of Proclamation! to evaluate the works of every Christian leader and writer. Our focus is to explore issues related to Seventh-day Adventism in particular and Sabbatarianism in general.
Second, the writers you mention have never claimed that their words were given by God, that they will last as long as time lasts, and that even though they die, their words will love and continue to speak to people. Ellen White did make these claims for herself. (See, for example, Selected Messages, vol. 1, p. 55) Neither does the Christian church claim for the authors you list, as does the Adventist Church for Ellen White, that they are the Lord’s messengers and that their writings “are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction.” (28 Fundamental Beliefs, #17, retrieved from http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html?&template=printer.html)
Because of Ellen White’s claims and also the church’s claims for her, we are obligated to examine those claims and also to explore the facts about her writings.
